Gluten Free Menu: Yes   Printed on request

Description: At Olive Garden if you ask for a GF menu they will print one out. Their chefs select several dishes to make GF every day. Be sure your server and the manager understand the importance of maintaining a gluten-free diet. There have been reports (as of Sept. 2009) of poorly trained Olive Garden staff who don't understand the importance of avoiding cross-contamination and who even substitute non-GF items on orders from the GF menu. As of 2012 we have had mixed reports on Olive Garden. Their GF pasta dishes are now pre-made.
Comments: Mar 2, 2012: I had the mixed grill @ Broadway & Craycroft and felt sick for about a week afterwards. The staff seemed nice enough but I won't ever go back there again. I frankly think their menu is really for people who just think eating gluten free is healthy. They have a disclaimer that says they can't be sure. I took a chance so it was my fault but never again. Commentor's sensitivity: Digestive Symptoms (gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc) and can usually (but not always) be certain if they\'ve eaten gluten
Apr 9, 2011: My husband has Celiac Disease. We ate at the Olive Garden at Irvington, and the waitress understood the gluten dilemma. When he told her he was interested in the penne with Marinara, she was very honest and wanted us to understand it was not a great dish in that it was more like a microwavable affair. He ordered the mixed grill instead and it was delicious, just skewers of chick. and beef with loads of fresh and delicious veggies. We also had the salad without croutons. A good dining experience Commentor's sensitivity: Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH) and can NOT be certain if they've eaten gluten
Jul 2, 2010: At the West Irvington Olive Garden, I was very impressed with our server and the manager. After hearing that we were very sensitive to cross-contamination, they were apologetic but honest about not feeling like they could safely make us any of their gluten free creations except one: the gluten free pasta. The pasta is not made in-house, but sent to them pre-made. I felt very safe and was grateful for their honesty! Commentor's sensitivity: Digestive Symptoms (gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc) NON-digestive Symptoms (migraines, anemia, joint pain, etc) and has an immediate and unmistakable reaction
Apr 3, 2010: I ordered the gluten free penne pasta with marina sauce and I asked to add plain, naked chicken. The dish came out with no chicken and tasted terrible. The pasta was crunchy and the sauce had zero flavor. I waited 10 minutes for the server to finally bring the chicken, and when it arrived it was BREADED! She couldn't tell me what the breading was, and when I told her I wouldn't be eating it she just took it away. She didn't even offer to make a new one. Terrible experience. I won't ever ever go back. Aug 13, 2009: Starting Monday, August 17th Olive Garden will have gluten free pasta! Commentor's sensitivity: Digestive Symptoms (gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, etc) NON-digestive Symptoms (migraines, anemia, joint pain, etc) and can usually (but not always) be certain if they\'ve eaten gluten
May 7, 2007: I ate at the Olive Garden on Broadway and Craycroft on Friday, May 4th and I asked for a Gluten Free Menu and there was no problem. Selection were 2 salads with no croûtons. Entrees (3) Tuscan T-Bone, Pork Filettino (which I had and was very good with broccoli) and Herb Grilled Salmon.
